We talk often about the importance of family — not just as a core value, but as a guiding principle. Kids Science Camp is one of the clearest expressions of that commitment. It gives our children a hands-on look at how science can solve real-world problems, while helping them imagine themselves as the scientists, engineers and innovators of tomorrow.
That belief is at the heart of our annual Kids Science Camp, a three-day experience designed to spark imagination, nurture a passion for STEM and connect the next generation to the work we do every day. Since 2014, this program has invited children of Heritage employees, ages 8 to 12, to roll up their sleeves, ask questions and explore the science that powers our industries — from materials science and construction to environmental innovation and chemical engineering.
In recent years, we’ve been fortunate to partner with the world-class Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, whose immersive exhibits and expert educators have elevated the learning experience. But what makes this camp truly special is what it represents: a tangible investment in the future of science and STEM-based learning.
My hope is that this spark of curiosity stays with them — that it grows into a passion, and maybe even a career path that brings them back to us one day, not as campers, but as colleagues.
Because when we say we’re building the future, we mean it — and it starts with investing in theirs.
